On the afternoon of Sunday July 7, 2013, the brothers of Lambda Phi Epsilon at McMaster University gathered on campus to venture on their first garbage crawl of the year. The weather forecast indicated chance of thunderstorms which brought concerns to many brothers as they were uncertain whether the event would still occur or not. Luckily, the weather held up long enough for the brothers to complete an hour of cleanup.
The sun shone bright as the brothers broke off into groups to cover different parts of the community. Various items were collected ranging from recyclables to cigarette buds. After a long and hard session, the brothers headed back towards campus. The brothers collected a total of 7 bags that day and rewarded themselves with a well deserved brotherhood meal.
A community clean up is one of many ways we can help to better our local community. Lambda Phi Epsilon at McMaster University strives to involve ourselves in events which will create a positive impact towards the community of Hamilton.
