The brothers of McMaster Lambda Phi Epsilon were at it again as they strive to raise money to help support the Canadian Cancer Society. This year was a big monumental moment for one of our brothers, Dan Armena who was also a participant at this year’s Relay For Life at McMaster University. His aunt passed away due to cancer. He participates because it had always reminded him of her and figured any contribution no matter how big or little can make a difference.
This year, the brothers were able to fundraise a total of $1,335 towards the cause and hopes to exceed that goal next year.
Below is a picture of Dan’s aunt. Peaceful, happy and beautiful she was despite having to battle through her illness till her last waking moment.
David Liang, a brother of McMaster Lambda Phi Epsilon takes initiative with organizing and hosting the McMaster Stem Cell Drive happening right now in the Student Centre.
In collaboration with the OtherHalf – Chinese Stem Cell Initiative and OneMatch Stem Cell Network, they hope to raise awareness, but more importantly, target young, diverse males of Asian decent to increase the chances of saving patients who are currently suffering from potentially life-threatening illnesses including cancer and immune dysfunctions.
Together, lets work and try to help those in need, one cotton swab at a time.
